There is a limited number of rooms available for foreign students in the student dormitories. Foreign students have the possibility to live in dormitories if they are scholarship-holders of the Government of Republic Slovenia or Ministries (CEEPUS program) or they are part of EU exchange program – ERASMUS.

There are three locations of dormitories for foreign students in Maribor: Tyrševa, Gosposvetska and Gorkega-Quadro. The rooms are mostly double, kitchen, bathroom and toilets are shared. Blankets, pillows and bed-sheets are provided in dormitories, but you should bring your own towels and dishes. All rooms have internet access; you need to bring your UTP cable. Dormitories on Gosposvetska Street:

  • near Faculty of Education (Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics);
  • 10 minutes of walking to Faculty of electrical engineering and computer science, Faculty of Chemistry, Faculty of Civil and Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Medicine;
  • Price: 540 € + 200 € security deposit

Dormitories on Tyrševa Street:

  • near Faculty of Law;
  • near Faculty of Economics and Business;
  • 10 minutes of walking to Faculty of electrical engineering and computer science, Faculty of Chemistry, Faculty of Civil and Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Medicine;
  • Price: 550 € + 200 € security deposit.

Dorm Quadro on Gorkega Street:

  • near faculty of Health Sciences
  • 15 minutes to the city centre by feet
  • Price: 852 € + 200 € security deposit .

You will pay the rent for the whole semester (in one single instalment) when you arrive to student dormitories. You must also pay a security deposit before your arrival, which will be refunded upon your departure if there is no damage done to your room.

The requirements for a residence permit are a valid identity card or passport, acceptance letter as a proof that student is enrolled in a recognized educational Establishment, European health insurance card and Declaration of Finances for EU citizens.
