About SCUM

The Student Council of the University of Maribor (SCUM) is a body of the University of Maribor. It is composed of 2 student representatives from each Faculty of the University of Maribor and two representatives of student dormitory residents. The chairman of the Student Council is a student who is by function the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs of the University of Maribor.

What do we do?

Members of the Student Council are committed to the welfare of students. We represent the rights of students and address issues related to students. We take part in University’s bodies and committees and thus make sure that the student’s voice is heard. Through that, we participate in decision-making, in the co-management of the University and in the designing of the study process. With our active role, we make the studies more student-friendly and enhance their quality.

We are also preparing activities and events aimed at spending quality and fun extracurricular time. Our most known projects are:

• Week of health;
• University Sports League for the UM Champion;
• Aerobics Marathon;
• Boat Race;
• Educational and language courses;
• Charitable activities: blood donation, fund raising, etc.
